Common electrical faults in the home
Spotting the warning signs
Electrical issues often give you little warning, but there are a few signs that something isn’t quite right. Common faults include:
- Lights that flicker or dim unexpectedly
- Burning smells from sockets or switches
- Warm or discoloured plug sockets
- Fuses that blow frequently
These may seem small, but they can point to wiring faults, overloaded circuits, or worn-out fittings – all of which can be fire risks if left unchecked.
If you notice any of these issues, it’s best to call Fife Electrical Services rather than ignoring them. Early repairs can prevent bigger (and more expensive) problems later.
